Experience

I set up my small independent private practice “Family Support “ in 2012 having previously worked in a variety of aspects and positions in educational settings supporting children and their families for over 22 years. I am based in Wiltshire, covering Swindon, Cirencester and Malmesbury areas.

I went onto train as a integrative person centred counsellor which means that I believe that our relationship is key and my focus is based around understanding your needs and that I am led by you at your pace. Being able to offer counselling enables me to reach and support more children, young people and adults at a deeper level.

I am passionate and about the health and welfare of children, families, parents/carers, young people and adult well-being.

Interests

I have a compassionate, hardworking nature which has led me to train further in  Havening Techniques, Mindfulness, Reiki and Relax Kids, enabling me to assist and support those in greatest need, allowing me to dip into many areas of expertise using a variety of best fit techniques and skills many of which are creative-dependent on client’s lead, all of which can help to provide better outcomes and alleviate stress and anxiety.

I am a strong believer that our body, mind and spirit are all interconnected. I have undertaken lots of training around the importance of ACES- Adverse Child Experiences and the impact on our mental and physical health. I have a keen interest in disability.

Customer service is paramount within my practice, a non-judgemental approach is vital work ethic to me, along with encouragement, compassion, respect and kindness. I undertake regular up to date training to stay ahead and have a special interest in the latest in neuroscience which is vital in understanding how best to respond to my clients especially, children and young people who struggle with their behaviour along with bereavement and attachment.

As well as running a private practice I work closely with over Swindon Schools, individuals and other organisations in a variety of ways offering 1:1, group work, staff meetings, training, workshops and seminars offering support around trauma, attachment, anxiety, bereavement, mental health, attachment play and well-being including mindfulness.

Hevening Technique Practitioner

Havening Techniques® and its effect on stressful life events and traumatic memory, offers an opportunity to provide remarkable healing.

The Havening Techniques® is a method, which is designed to change the brain to de-traumatize the memory and remove its negative effects from both our psyche and body. As part of its protocol The Havening Techniques uses the sensory input of human touch as a therapeutic tool which we have identified as Havening Touch®.

The Havening Techniques® are powerful tools that can be used to treat the consequences of encoded traumatic or stressful memories. Depending on the nature of the encoded trauma it can be done with guidance by myself a certified Havening Techniques practitioner.

I can use this simple tool to support you with stress management, or achieving goals. I can also use the method to remove  haunting memories.

As a qualified Havening practitioner, I have undertaken rigorous training in order to understand the science and research behind the methods and certified by Dr Ruden.

I can use Havening as a stand-alone therapy (this is especially helpful with trauma) or use alongside my counselling work. The impact is remarkable and are believed to create a significant positive physiological change in the structure of the landscape of the brain.
